About the Item

Original large format Qantas Japan Australia's Overseas Airline vintage travel poster. This antique poster is archival linen backed and in very fine condition. This image was also printed in a small format as well. This vintage poster features a large rooster, The rooster is a symbolic of courage thought Japan. Due to their relation with the goddess Amaterasu, roosters are regarded as sacred birds, permitted to roam freely around the Shinto temples. In the top you will see a Constellation aircraft with the triple tail. Qantas first Constellaton was delivered in Australia in October 1947. The Constellation was the world's first pressured airline in widespread commercial service. This large format original vintage poster is archival linen backed for preservation and is in very good condition.
